Biography:
My decision to transition into a provider role was profoundly shaped by my twelve years of experience as a Registered Nurse. During my time at the bedside in a busy rural hospital, I cared for patients across multiple settings, including emergency services, medical-surgical care, operating room, endoscopy, pediatrics, and obstetrics. Throughout these years, I frequently saw patients return to the hospital struggling with chronic disease management. This pattern sparked a strong desire to focus on the proactive, pre-hospital side of care—building lasting relationships with patients, empowering them to take charge of their health, and helping prevent avoidable hospitalizations.
I am deeply passionate about family practice, as it allows me to provide comprehensive, continuous care to individuals and families across all stages of life. I hold a special place in my heart for caring for our most vulnerable populations, particularly older adults and those living with dementia. Supporting these patients—and the families who care for them—through complex and often emotional journeys is both meaningful and deeply rewarding to me.
My approach to care is grounded in partnership and servant leadership. I believe in actively collaborating with patients, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and fully involved in decisions about their health. I strive to provide clear information, compassionate guidance, and the resources patients need to make informed choices, always serving their best interests with empathy, integrity, and dedication.
Practicing in a rural community is incredibly fulfilling. I value the authentic, enduring relationships that develop within such a resilient population and appreciate the trust and strong sense of community that grows over time. The autonomy often present in rural medicine allows me to deliver personalized, adaptable care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
This community is also my hometown, which makes serving here especially meaningful. I feel privileged to contribute to the health and well-being of a place I will always consider home, alongside dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to improving outcomes for our patients.
Outside of work, a genuine smile from a patient or colleague—and a call from my boys—never fails to brighten my day.
