- Medical Nutrition Therapy to provide nutrition counseling for a medical diagnosis (Diabetes, Cardiology, Obesity, etc.)
- Gentle Nutrition and Intuitive Eating Guidance to help rebuild a stable structure and relationship to food by focusing on internal cues around hunger, fullness, and satiety, while also helping to heal the relationship with food and our bodies.
- Nutrition education on a variety of nutrition problems such as heart healthy nutrition, increased calorie needs, adding protein, increasing fiber, vitamin and mineral abnormalities, constipation, etc.
Referral:
- Medicare & Medicaid patients must have referral from a medical provider.
- All patients must have referral from a medical provider
- Be sure to to check with your private insurance to determine if they cover nutrition therapy.
Are Services Covered by Insurance?
- Medicare – Covers Diabetes, CKD, and kidney transplants within last 36 months.
- Medicaid – Covers all nutrition-related appts up to 21 yo, then only Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) for patients with a BMI >30.
- Private Insurance coverage will vary. It is recommended each patient check with their insurance to determine their insurance policy’s coverage.
