Chief Financial Officer
About the Role:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides executive leadership and strategic direction for all financial operations of Sheridan Memorial Hospital Association (SMHA), a Critical Access Hospital serving the rural community of Plentywood, Montana. The CFO ensures the delivery of quality, cost-effective health care services in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and goals of SMHA. This role encompasses oversight of finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, reimbursement, payroll, supply chain, budgeting, and related operations. The CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with the CEO and Board to drive financial sustainability, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and long-term viability in a challenging rural healthcare environment typical of Critical Access Hospitals.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
- Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- Preferred a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years at the CFO or Director of Finance level in a healthcare setting, preferably a Critical Access Hospital or rural integrated delivery system
- Current Montana driver’s license
- Ability to be insured to operate SMHA vehicles
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
