RE: Confirmed COVID 19 at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home
It is a CMS mandate that Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home immediately report to the Public any positive COVID 19 cases within the Nursing Home facility.  Sheridan Memorial Hospital Association has a report of 2 confirmed positive case of COVID-19 within the Nursing Home over the weekend. Contact tracing in-house is underway.  Those impacted have been/will be contacted.
The safety of the infected as well as the other residents, patients, and staff are of the utmost importance to us at Sheridan Memorial.  We want to stress that many precautions are being taken to help reduce the risk of Covid-19 exposure.  We continue with our daily precautions and monitoring of staff and residents.
New CMS visitation guidelines have been released.  Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home will allow indoor visitation at all times and for all residents as permitted under the regulations.  Facilities can no longer limit the frequency and length of visits for residents, the number of visitors, or require advance scheduling of visits.
With that, when there is an active COVID-19 outbreak investigation within the Nursing Home, we continue to follow CMS regulations and guidance for COVID-19 testing which include routine testing.  While it is safer for visitors not to enter the facility during an outbreak investigation, we will allow visitation as stated above, but want to make you aware of the potential risk of visiting during an outbreak investigation.  If visiting you should wear face coverings or masks regardless of vaccination status and visits should ideally occur in the resident's room.
If you have questions regarding any of our precautions, please feel free to call (406) 765.3767.
