- Health
Insurance Coverage - Full time employees receive 100% Health
Insurance paid by employer; part time employees receive 50%. All
employees who work an average of 20 hours per week are eligible to
participate in our plan from the date of hire and upon acceptance by
the plan. Employees may elect to add dependent coverage by paying the
additional premium. Premiums paid by employees will automatically
be deducted from their paycheck two pay periods of each month through
our Limited Flexible Spending Program.
- Sign-on
Bonus - Not all employees qualify for the sign-on bonus.

- Pharmacy
Coverage - Coverage is included with group health insurance.
- Longevity
Bonus - Longevity Bonus kicks in after 10 years of service at
Sheridan Memorial Hospital Association.
- Flexible
Spending - All employees can set aside tax free dollars to be
used for un-reimbursed childcare and health care expenses.
- Voluntary
Dental, Accident and Cancer Insurance Plans - Dental, accident,
and /or cancer insurance plans for employees, their spouses and
dependents are available. Sheridan Memorial does not contribute
to the payment of this premium. Premiums are paid via a payroll
deduction.
- Life
Insurance - Group Term Life Insurance for employees, their
spouses and dependents is available. Sheridan Memorial does not
contribute to the payment of this premium. Premiums are paid via
a payroll deduction.
- Retirement
Plan - Sheridan Memorial offers its employees an opportunity to
sign up for a 401 (k) retirement plan. Sheridan Memorial Hospital
Association does not match funds; however, a flat percentage is
distributed to employees at the end of each year.
- Medicare
Supplement Assistance - All those eligible for Medicare and who
have a Medicare supplement can get a pre-determined amount sent to the
supplement plan.
- Personal
Time Off (PTO) - Employees are eligible to use PTO after
successfully completing their six month probation. Employees will
receive time off with pay for relaxation, vacation and holidays, or for
personal and emergency purposes when requested in advance, scheduled
and approved by their department director.
- Extended
Illness Bank (EIB) - Sick leave can be used after a new employee
has completed three months of their probationary period. Sick
leave may be used under certain circumstances as defined in the EIB
policy.
- Holiday
Pay - Holiday pay is not in effect until probationary period is
complete. Sheridan Memorial recognizes 8 holidays. All employees
working a holiday shift will be paid one and a half times their regular
pay.
- Bereavement
- Eligible employees will be allowed to take up to 24 scheduled
hours per year for the death of an immediate family member.
- Compassion
Fund - To help those employees who have exhausted these banks,
SMHA will allow current employees to voluntarily donate PTO to
employees who have no time remaining in their banks.
- Family
Leave Act - The US Department of Labor’s Employment Standards
Administration, Wage and Hour Division, administers and enforces the
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for all private, state and local
government employees, and some federal employees.
- Leave
of Absence - A leave of absence without pay or benefits, which
does not qualify under the FMLA, may be granted in the case of a family
emergency or the death of an immediate family member. Each situation is
different and will be reviewed accordingly.
- Jury
Duty - If employees are summoned to jury duty and are unable to
work their scheduled shifts, they will be entitled to the difference of
their pay at SMHA and the pay they receive for serving on jury
duty. A maximum of 40 hours per week is allowed.
- Military
Leave - All employees are eligible for time off to pursue
military reserve service.
- Workers
Compensation - All employees are covered by Workers’
Compensation Insurance.
- Unemployment
Insurance - All employees are covered for unemployment
compensation benefits. No deductions will be made from wages to
pay such benefits.
- PTO
Sell Back - Employees who have satisfied their probationary
period will be allowed to sell back up to 40 hours of PTO each July and
December. Employees will be required to keep at least a minimum
of 160 hours in their PTO bank after the Sell Back.
- Employee
Discount - Employees working more than 20 hours per week are
eligible for a 20% discount on all services rendered at Sheridan
Memorial Hospital Association up to $1000 per year. The discount
is available for the employee, their spouse and dependent children and
is applied after all Insurance is settled.
- Referral
Bonus - A bonus of $200.00 will be paid to an active SMHA
employee who refers a newly hired regular full-time or part-time person
working 20 or more hours per week. After the referred has
successfully completed their probation period, the referring employee
will receive $100.00 and upon successfully completing one (1) year of
employment, the referring employee will receive an additional
$100.00. The position must be posted in order for a consideration
into this program.
- Holiday
Bonus - All employees are eligible for annual bonus.
- Continuing
Education - All Sheridan Memorial employees are required to
attend mandatory in-service training annually for: Abuse; Body
Mechanics; Fire and Disaster/Safety; Infection Control; and, Residents
Rights and Confidentiality. Employees are encouraged to attend
trainings that benefit their position at Sheridan Memorial
- Loan
Repayment - Not all employees are eligible for loan
repayment. Contact Human Resources for more information
- Tuition
Assistance -
Employees wanting to do continuing education as an RN, LPN or other
medical field can apply for assistance from Sheridan Memorial.
- Meal
Discounts - All employees are eligible to purchase meal tickets
at a 50% discount; they can receive a $3/1 time meal ticket or a $30/10
time meal ticket. The $30 meal ticket can be deducted from the
employee’s paycheck.
- Vaccinations
- All employees are given the option of a free flu vaccination
and hepatitis series of three shots.
- Jeans
Day - All employees are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays.
- Direct
Deposit of Paychecks - All employees can have their paychecks
direct deposited to their checking, savings or a percentage in both.
- Payroll
Deductions - Sheirdan Memorial Payroll Clerk can deduct your
paycheck with any payments to Sheridan Memorial Hospital Association
and/or Plentywood Clinic, P.C. It is the employee’s
responsibility to notify the Payroll Clerk when payments are done.
- Annual
Picnic - Sheridan Memorial offers a summer picnic lunch, in
July, for all employees. Beverages, meat, and buns are provided
while the other is pot-luck.
- Annual
Christmas Party - All employees are eligible to attend the
annual Christmas party held in early December. Each employee is
allowed to bring one guest and will have their pick of two meal
choices. Door prizes, accumulated throughout the year, are given
away.
- Annual
Safety Prizes - For every month worked here with no Safety
violations, each employee is eligible for a $100.00 drawing.
- Milestone
Rewards - All employees are eligible for rewards given showing
their dedication to Sheridan Memorial.
- Fun
Committee - Sheridan Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home value
their employees and want to be sure they know they are
appreciated. The Fun Committee consists of volunteers from
different departments. They help keep up employee moral by
hosting fun events for the employees throughout the year.
- Notary
Services - Sheridan
Memorial offers Notary Services to all it's employees. Services
are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.
- Gift
Shop - All employees have access to the “Welcome Shop”
conveniently located between the Hospital and the Nursing Home.
