Antelope Dinner Theater (link) - An annual
fundraiser for the
community of Antelope. Area amatuer actors join together to
create an evening of entertainment. Plays range from musicals to
comedies, you are guaranteed an evening of good food and fun.

KP Run Walk - An annual memorial 5KP, held during the Sheridan
County Fair, community
members gather to run or walk, to remember long time Sheridan County
Resident and Coach, Kevin Paulson.

- Medicine Lake, Westby and Plentywood all host tennis courts
near their
local parks.
- Geocaching
(link) - Geocaching
is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the
world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. Enjoyed by people
of all age groups, there are 40 in the Plentywood area that
participate.
- Ice
Skating - Not only can one ice skate at the Bolster Dam, but
Plentywood also has
their own outdoor rink near the Sherwood Park.
- Snowmobiling
- Sheridan County hosts light fluffy powder to carve a trail
through. Plentywood has a snowmobile club, Sno-Travelers, who
occasionally gather together for a trip across the snowy hills and
plains.
- Shooting
Ranges - There are four shooting ranges located in Sheridan
County.
Dagmar, Medicine Lake and two in Plentywood. Most recently
Medicine Lake Trap Club was awarded $4,317 in partial funding towards
the installment of a new electrical system and heater and replacement
of a trap house, concrete pad and sidewalks. The Pioneer Gun
Club, located in Dagmar received $14,000 in partial funding towards
replacement of a trap house and purchase of an automated thrower and
voice command unit.
- Sheridan
County Fair - The annual Sheridan County Fair also features
live concerts, PRCA
Rodeo, demolition derby, mud run, bump 'n run, food, kids area, parade,
youth livestock and sale, horse show, commercial booths, free
entertainment, carnival and a free shuttle bus on premise.
- Hunting
and Fishing - Sheridan County has abundant hunting of deer,
grouse, pheasant and
migratory birds. WE also offer fishing in the Plentywood and
Raymond Dams and Medicine Lake as well as several other hidden fishing
holes.
- Bird
Watching - The Medicine Lake Wildlife Refuge, established in
1935, provides
important breeding and stopover habitats for a diverse array of
migratory birds and boasts the best bird watching in the area.
- Horseshoes
- Medicine Lake, Westby and Plentywood all host horseshoe pits
near their
local parks.
- County
Museum (link) - During
the late 1960's, a group of Sheridan County residents realized
that they had to make an effort to capture some of the historical
flavor, fashions and fixtures of our early days. The Sheridan
County Museum was completed in 1968 and formally dedicated on June 29,
1989.
- Farm
Expo - Each year KATQ Radio sponsors its annual Farm Expo,
bringing in
agricultural and household exhibits from Montana, North Dakota, and
Canada. Educational seminars daily. Friday night's banquet
includes a featured guest speaker.
- Prairie
Fest - Prairie Fest is a week long celebration that involves all
areas of Sheridan County. The celebration is kicked off the last week
in June with Medicine Lake's Evening in the Park and is continued
through the Fourth of July with Westby Days on the 5th.
- Sunset
Drive-In (link) - Locally
owned and operated the Sunset Drive-In takes us back to the nostalgic
feeling of going to the movies. Park your car, tune in your
radio, lay back and enjoy the show. Or bring a blanket and watch
Newly Released movies under the stars. A playground is available
for children and a variety of concessions are available, including
popcorn, pizza, slush burgers and more!
- Orpheum Theater (link) - The
historic Orpheum Theater is solely operated on a Volunteer Basis.
Purchased by the Chamber of Commerce, the Theater not only brings Newly
Released movies to the community of Sheridan County, but offers the
community a space to give presentations, watch live entertainment and
host meetings.
- Medicine Lake Wildlife Refuge (link) - Northeast
Montana is a virtual outdoor paradise, with endless recreational
possibilities. For example, the 32,000-acre Medicine Lake
Wildlife Refuge, just 23 miles from Plentywood, is home to nearly a
quarter of a million waterfowl during spring and fall migrations.
This prairie lake ecosystem is also one of the best places in the west
to photograph great blue herons, white pelicans, sandhill cranes and 10
different species of ducks. All hunting allowed on the Refuge is
in accordance with Federal and State law. Hunters can enjoy a
quality hunting experience from upland game birds, most waterfowl,
mourning doves, some big game and mammalian predators. The area
grasslands are abundant with thousands of prairie birds, deer and
antelope.
- Plentywood
Golf Course - Plentywood's nine-hole golf course will please
those who cannot live without a challenging game of golf.
Women's, Men's couples and 5 and Under leagues offer an opportunity for
everyone to golf. Several golf tournaments are held throughout
the year that can quench your thirst for competition and fun.
- Local
Parks and Pools - Plentywood's five city parks and municipal
swimming pool provide recreation for the kids while tennis, basketball,
adult softball programs and little league fill the competitive
need. Medicine Lake also provides the community with a public
swimming pool, picnic area and park.
- State
Parks - Sheridan County boasts a newly established Montana State
Park, only 31 miles from Plentywood. Brush Lake is a deep, clear
lake with white, sandy beaches surrounded by grass fields and linear
stands of spring wheat. Due to the mineral make-up of this lake,
there are no fish. A day-use area is located on the northeast
portion of the lake. This area includes a parking area, boat ramp
and dock, vault toilet, picnic tables, fire-rings and a designated
swimming area.
